    CANADIAN-EUROPEAN SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION ALMOST DOUBLES IN FIVE YEARS

    The following table is the result of a search of the Institute for Scientific Information Citation Index for co-publications in the fields of science, engineering and medicine where at least one of the authors has a Canadian address and at least one other has an address within one of the fifteen member countries of the European Union.

    The overall total of such co-publications from all sources from 1992 to 1997, (inclusive), is 20, 826. The total for the same period from the sub-set of those sources which present only peer-referred scientific articles, is 17,500.
