The goal of the CoMES project is the definition of a CoDesign Methodology for developing Embedded Systems from the improvement and updating of MCSE as a background methodology, the knowledge of application domains in which the CoMES methodology is going to be applied and the identification of existing and non existing tools and languages supporting the CoMES approach.
Mastering industrial applications according to current and future constraints including the increase in complexity and integration, needs today to build the development of embedded systems on three major pillars: the knowledge of the application domain which is the competence of companies providing solutions and products in the specific domain; the use of an appropriate system design and Hw/Sw CoDesign methodology to improve the quality of Hw/Sw systems and to reduce development cost and time; the use of appropriate tools to manage the projects, to capture the descriptions of solutions at various levels of abstraction, to verify these solutions, to produce the hardware and the software as automatically as possible, to validate the systems in their environments.
Our approach consists in experimenting and enhancing the MCSE methodology. We also concurrently evaluate existing commercial tools as potential ESDA supports for the design process and the emerging technology.
The main result of this project will be the CoMES methodology. Secondary results will be:
To reach our goal and work concurrently on applications, design methodology and tools, the consortium includes:
