The Commission of the European Communities has issued a call for expressions of interest in the technical management of energy-technology projects. These projects are part of the following programmes in the energy field: the programme of support for technological development in the hydrocarbons sector; the Community demonstration programme in the field of energy savings, alternative energy sources, substitutes for hydrocarbons and the liquefaction/gasification of solid fuels; and the THERMIE programme. The projects concern innovative processes or products in the energy field. The originators of the projects are companies, regional or local authorities and sometimes research institutes in universities. Projects put forward under the above-mentioned programmes will cover a period of several years in two distinct phases: an assessment phase prior to the support decision and a management phase subsequent to the support decision. The Commission intends to make use of outside bodies solely for technical management intended to accompany the work on new projects and to check that the aims of the programme of activities have been achieved.Further information from: Commission of the European Communities, DG XVII Attn.
