The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a report entitled "The Evaluation of the JOULE programme (1989-1992)". The general aims of the JOULE (Joint opportunities for Unconventional or Long-term Energy Supply) programme were to develop energy technologies which take account of new and renewable energy technologies, to increase security of supply and reduce energy imports as well to contribute to environmental protection.
