Objective This multi-national research project is aimed at producing a simplified method of calculating the buckling behaviour of hot-rolled sections, which are subjected to fire. This behaviour must satisfy Section 10 of Eurocode 3 concerning Building Design with regard to Fire Hazards. The work will include theoretical simulations, searching and analysing the numerous existing databases, and carrying out many tests of the behaviour of full-scale structures to exposure to fire. Such tests will provide a means of confirming theoretical values, and of correlating with previous series of research work.
