Tourism in Europe marketing-partnership in training

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Employees in the tourist industry have little access to vocational training which could enable them to acquire international business skills. This lack of information means that they do not have the opportunity to adapt to the globalisation of the tourist market. This is why the project, based on a transnational partnership, is aimed at improving and intensifying vocational training opportunities for employees and owners of small tourist businesses in order to facilitate the marketing of the products and services of the tourist trade throughout the EU.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will firstly examine the vocational training requirements of this sector in each of the countries involved in the project and will try to define a training methodology capable of responding to these requirements whilst taking into account the differences in each country. A vocational training programme backed up by seminars will be tested on three target groups in three countries (the United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany) and then disseminated on the Internet.

PRODUCTS
The project will end with the development of training modules relating to the European tourist industry, which can be used for self-training programmes and in-company training. Manuals will be produced in German and English; the contents will also be available on diskette.
