All 42 projects under the programme of research and technological development in the field of agro-industry, 1989-1993 (ECLAIR) continue during 1992. The annual reports for the first year and a number of second year reports have been compiled. Participants of agro-industry studies on bioplastics, proteins for animal feeds, biofibres, and biofuels have presented their reports. Mid-term assessment of the ECLAIR programme commissioned by the evaluation unit was completed in May of this year. A two day conference entitled "Agro-industrial and forestry research days" was held in Brussels on 11-12 March 1992. Here all the contractors of FLAIR, ECLAIR and FORESTRY exhibited their projects and took part in workshops, round tables and presentations concerning agro-industrial and forestry research in Europe.
