Since 1975, the European Commission has implemented, on behalf of the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom), a series of five-year shared-cost programmes in the field of management and storage of radioactive waste. The fourth of these programmes (1990-1994) is now in its final phase. The Commission's Directorate-General for science, research and development (DG XII) has recently released a list of publications covering all presently available reports published under the series "Nuclear Science and Technology", within the framework of these programmes. These include: - Topical and final research contract reports; - Reports on coordinated actions on projects, compiled or edited by the Commission staff and/or by experts on behalf of the Commission; - Proceedings of meetings, workshops and conferences organized and edited by the Commission. The work carried out by the various institutes of the Joint Research Centre (JRC), and by other Directorates-General of the European Commission, in the field of radioactive waste is not included in this list.
