Euro Metal Branch Funds

Objective

The goal of this project is to create a network of European branch funds in the metallurgical sector in order to study means of organising joint training management in each country. It will concentrate mainly on sandwich courses and validation of acquired skills. Consequently, the methodology of the project will allow exchanges between management and labour and joint organisations in the metallurgical sector.

This project depends on the creation of a unit of technical and political partners representing each organisation involved. At first, the project will produce a comparative analysis of the organisation and the role of joint management in partner countries, and descriptions of the profiles of important skills and practices in the area of sandwich courses and validation. This finalised information will then be transferred to an Intranet data base - Euro metal branch funds. The end result will be the progressive creation of a double observatory on the Internet, permitting an analysis of skills and sandwich course and validation practices.

Impact
The project will have a direct impact on the promotion of vocational training in the metallurgical sector and will help to better adjust such training to the needs of companies and workers.
