Objective The aim of this research is to exploit a micro-wave furnace to improve sample dissolution in the analysis of iron and steel. The dissolution of samples will be achieved in a novel way in a closed system that will avoid contamination. The solutions produced in this way will be suitable for analysis by techniques already available in steelworks laboratories. This project will be undertaken jointly between CSM (Rome) and CENIM (Madrid) under the technical coordination of CSM.
