BRIDGE "T" projects described
A number of folders have been prepared describing current "T" (targeted) projects under the BRIDGE programme. These are large coordinated projects aimed at the elimination of barriers of scale or structure which prevent the exploitation by agriculture or industry of the data, materials and methods originating from modern biology. The folders contain information papers on the participating laboratories and their overall objectives plus an update on the progress of their research. The following are available: - Factors regulating growth and differentiation of plant cells; - Molecular identification of new plant genes; - Sequencing the yeast genome (includes map of yeast chromosome); - Lipases (structure, mechanism and genetic engineering); - Biotechnology of Lactic Acid Bacteria.
