Bulgaria joins drive for energy efficiency
Bulgaria can join in the Community programme for energy efficiency, SAVE II, as the European Commission has recently published a Decision adopting the terms and conditions (Decision No 6/98: 1999/113/EC). Bulgaria will be subject to the same conditions for participation in the project as other Community Members and participants in the programme. Where applicable, any projects proposed by Bulgaria will be required to include a minimum number of partners from the Member States of the Community, to ensure the maintenance of SAVE II's Community dimension. The minimum number of partners will be decided during the project's implementation. Bulgaria's financial contribution to SAVE II will cover subsidies and any other costs to the programme resulting from Bulgaria's participation. The country's annual contribution will be ECU 231 768 from 1998. The Decision came into force on 1 January 1999.
