CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, has published Expressions of Interest (EoI), submitted by European citizens and research stakeholders, relating to the EURATOM Nuclear Energy Research and Training Programme under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). Opened between 26 November 2003 and 19 March 2004, the EoI provided an opportunity for researchers and other interested parties to propose ideas to the Commission that could be included in future revisions of the work programme in this field of research. The EoIs were solicited for all areas of the EURATOM programme, except nuclear fusion energy, and concerned only the new instruments: Networks of Excellence (NoE), Integrated Projects (IP) and Integrated Infrastructure Initiatives (I3). Following assessment by the Commission, all submitted EoIs that were complete and for which permission was granted by the submitters, are now searchable on the FP6 Euratom web service. Some 60 expressions of interest covering a large number of European Union countries and activity areas are now accessible. Users can perform a search by activity area and/or instrument. The searchable EoIs are fully integrated into the 'Nuclear Fission and Radiation Protection' web service on CORDIS, which promotes news and access to partners and documents, as well as projects funded under the Sixth Framework Programme.
