The European Commission has published an invitation to tender for the production, marketing and distribution of the Handynet computerized European information database. Under the third Community action programme HELIOS II, established by a Council Decision of 25 February 1993 (OJ No L 56 of 9.3.1993) the Commission entrusted a technical assistance office (Lucas Stichting voor Revalidatie (LSR)) with responsibility for the implementation of a number of the programme's activities. These include the measures designed to meet the information needs of disabled people by continuing the collection, adaptation at European level, updating, exchange and dissemination of information gathered in the Member States by the national data collection coordination centres, within the framework of the computerized information and documentation system Handynet. The selected organization will be commissioned to provide the required technical support from 1 May 1995 to 31 January 1997, under a contract which will be renewable annually and which will be linked to the terms of the contract between LSR and the Commission. The Commission undertakes to finance the production of 2,000 copies of the CD-ROM for dissemination free of charge within the Member States. An information session on the call will take place in Brussels on 23 March 1995. The tender specifications may be obtained from: Mr. M. Debacker Ver.
