The Joint Research Centre carries out a number of cooperation activities with national research organizations and universities within the EU and the associated EEA countries by means of bilateral and multilateral agreements, Human Capital and Mobility Networks and EUREKA projects. In this context, the JRC has recently published a report on "JRC cooperation with national research organizations and universities". The report provides a general overview of JRC cooperation activities in 1996 stemming from its participation in institutional activities under the Community Framework Programmes, as well as its participation in Community programmes on a competitive basis. Each chapter is devoted to the cooperation activities carried out by one of the seven JRC institutes.
