Obiettivo The project is aimed at studying the Lya, ß, optical spectra of quasi-molecules of immediate interest for astrophysics, namely: H2+, H2, H2-, HeH+, (HeH)2+ , their isotopes, and (He2)2+, (LiH)2+, (LiH)3+, (LiHe)3+, (LiHe)4+, (C2)11+, (Si2)27+, (Fe2)51+ as well as the influence of macroscopic parameters (electric and magnetic external fields, density of perturbers, isotopic composition, and temperature) on the quasi-molecular spectra and on satellites when they occur. The project integrates the efforts of six teams that share expertise in astrophysics, atomic and molecular physics, plasma physics and can be considered as multi-disciplinary.Research activities comprise analytical and modern computational approaches and include:- The calculation of the energy terms and radiative characteristics for few-electron quasi-molecules.- The theory of quasi-molecular satellites focused on the influence of the interactions between quasi-molecular states, the external static and dynamic electrical and magnetic fields, the density of electron and atoms/ions.- The calculation of semi-classical and fully-quantum spectral profile for specific quasi-molecules,- The radiation transfer studies and calculation of synthetic spectra and the associated modelled atmospheres. The results to be obtained include, formula for the position and width of satellites, potential energy surfaces, radiative characteristics, spectral profiles of the quasi-molecules mentioned above, formulation and solving radiation transfer equation, and conclusions on the observability of quasi-molecular optical transitions in the spectra of stars. In this project, the influence of trajectories, zeros of dipole moments, external fields on quasi-molecular satellites will be studied for the first time. The results are addressed to astrophysics, atomic and molecular physics. The fusion science (inertial or magnetic fusion) community will also welcome the project results for implementing new diagnostics.
