Objectif Objectives:The project has the aim to increase the efficiency of CdTe thin film solar modules at assured stability by developing a new, low resistance, stable back-contact suited for mass production and to demonstrate the feasibility of a stable efficiency of 13 % for modules of 30 x 30 cm2 size. Technical approach. This goal shall be achieved through development of a back contacting process by study and variation of "classical" and new contact materials (such as low bandgap, p+-semiconductors), doping and deposition processes in a cyclic two-step iteration procedure, narrowing-down of the different options and techniques to one final procedure under continuous experimental and theoretical analysis, diagnosis and testing. This shall be performed by a consortium including a SME-type industrial company and six European research institutions, well equipped and experienced with development, analysis and modelling of the CdTe thin film solar cell from work done in part within past cooperative projects. Expected achievements and exploitation. It is expected to realise a technology for production of significantly improved CdTe modules of stable efficiency of 13%. The results will be exploited by the industrial partner in a production plant to be built in Germany able to manufacture 60 x 120 cm2 size modules at a capacity of 100,000m2 per year. 0101 Champ scientifique engineering and technologymaterials engineeringcoating and filmsnatural sciencesphysical scienceselectromagnetism and electronicssemiconductivity Programme(s) FP4-NNE-JOULE C - Specific programme for research and technological development, including demonstration in the field of non-nuclear energy, 1994-1998 Thème(s) 03020101 - R&D on PV cells: mono- and poly-crystalline Si, thin film and other promising materials, in order to improve their efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness Appel à propositions Data not available Régime de financement CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinateur ANTEC - ANGEWANDTE NEUE TECHNOLOGIEN GMBH Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse Industriestrasse 2-4 65779 KELKHEIM Allemagne Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée Participants (7) Trier par ordre alphabétique Trier par contribution de l’UE Tout développer Tout réduire Commission of the European Communities Italie Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse 21020 Ispra - Varese Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule - ETH Zürich Suisse Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse 1,Technoparkstrasse 8005 Zürich Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée INSTITUT FUER SOLARENERGIEFORSCHUNG GMBH; HAMELN/EMMERTHAL Allemagne Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse Am Ohrberg 1 EMMERTHAL Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée Solaronix SA Suisse Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse 129,Rue de L'Ouriette 1170 Aubonne Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée Universiteit Gent Belgique Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse 41,Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 9000 Gent Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée University of Durham Royaume-Uni Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse South Road DH1 3LE Durham Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée Università degli Studi di Parma Italie Contribution de l’UE Aucune donnée Adresse Viale delle Scienze 43100 Parma Voir sur la carte Coût total Aucune donnée
