Marginalization, specialization, cooperation : science, technology and cohesion in the Baltic and Mediterranean regions

Objective

A survey has been made of processes of economic marginalization and political destabilization in the Baltic and Mediterranean regions.

An analysis of their specialization patterns in production and technology under conditions of national capitalism in the 1970s, and triadic globalization in the 1980s has been undertaken.

Proposals for an alternative pattern of specialization and technological development oriented toward cooperation and codevelopment have been made.
