Ziel

To use the NOD mouse strain to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms of autoimmune diabetes mellitus, to identify disease genes and to design and optimise novel therapeutic protocols that prevent irreversible destruction of insulin-producing cells and induce long-lasting self-tolerance.
