ERAWATCH International Monitoring and Analysis

Objectif

This proposal sets out the approach for the development of ERAWATCH International, an information and analysis activity, envisaged to operate in close complementarity with the existing ERAWATCH Monitoring and Analysis Administrative Arrangement (ERAWATCH2). It has been prepared in response to the request for the Specific Service Agreement ERAWATCH International Monitoring and Analysis made to JRC IPTS by DG RTD on 22 July 2009. This request and its annex incorporate the results of discussions between the two services, and take into account ongoing developments in the main ERAWATCH service. Through the proposed administrative arrangement, the scope of monitoring and analysis activity in ERAWATCH International is determined by DG RTD and IPTS, and implemented by the latter. The primary objective of ERAWATCH International is to complement and extend the scope and analytical depth of the coverage of third countries by ERAWATCH. ERAWATCH International will develop and maintain additional country fiches for selected third countries with which the EC already has or is foreseen to have a S&T agreement (e.g. Argentina, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Algeria and Moldova). It will also provide analytical reports on selected third countries and horizontal analyses across countries.
