Objectif The aim of this research is to develop a steel intensive shallow floor system with an overall depth of 250 to 300 mm, which competes with precast concrete units in terms of economy, safety, performance and service passages. The project includes four activities: feasibility analysis, test and design guidance of slim floor beams incorporating deep composite slabs; theoretical and experimental studies of long span composite slabs; study of behaviour under fire of slim floor beams with composite slabs; simulated fire engineering analysis of slim floor beams with deep composite slabs.
