Report on the results of the policy relevant test case

Summary of policy relevant results of the application of the improved models to the test case

Impact of GIs on firms' performance

Analysis of the performance of GI certified firms versus non-certified firms in international markets, considering their export activity and their response to the growing import competition in terms of productivity and mark-up dynamics.

Economic wide impact assessment of GI trade

The deliverable will use CGEBox and will undertake an economy-wide impact assessment of selected GI schemes. The impact will be revealed at regional (NUTS2), national (European countries), and world-wide levels (while explicitly distinguishing USA and EU). The deliverable will be in form of a public report.

Documentation of the modelling structure

Documentation on how to modify current trade models to make them compatible with trade simulation models

Final report and data on NTM effects, fixed costs and welfare

These intermediate and final deliverables will present econometric estimations of the effects of NTMs on trade and welfare, as well as results concerning regulatory divergence (tasks 5.1 and 5.2). They will also examine econometric approaches to deal with distinct NTMs impact according to type and route, together with application in a case study.

Documentation on the prototype model and its numerical illustration

Documentation on the modified theoretical structure along with information from econometric analysis to enable the prototype implementation of the model with product quality differentiation.

Report on regulatory divergence and welfare implications

This report will summarise research undertaken in task 5.4, reporting on scenario analysis, research findings and methodological developments.

Broaden welfare implications of trade policy

Development of a conceptual framework linking agrifood trade and welfare assessment Characterisation of enhancements from WP26 that can be linked to SDGs Production of a literature review for subsequent tasks

Firm productivity, product quality, and trade

Empirical analysis of the impact of firms physical productivity consumer preferences and product quality on firms exports

Theoretical assessment of trade and welfare effects of GI protection

This deliverable consists of a presentation of advances in modelling GIs that highlight the trade and welfare effects of alternative schemes of GI protection.

Interaction between trade and environmental policy

Using two different models CAPRI and MIRAGE and one common scenario interactions between global trade liberalisation and regional environmental policies will be analysed

Report on the effects of GIs on territorial competitiveness and local performance of internationalisation

The report will provide an analysis of the role of GIs as a driver of territorial competitiveness and of local performances of internationalisation by comparing the territorial performances of areas with and without GIs in different European countries

Imports of intermediate inputs: competition, quality and trade

Theoretical and empirical modelling of the impact of increased imported intermediate inputs on trade through the quality channel

Armington-type trade models without CES

Collection of alternative models to the Armington CES able to solve the emerging trade flows problem

Report on NTMs along the supply chain

This deliverable will explore the impact of NTMs on trade in value added and GVCs in the agri-food sector (task 5.3)

Trade model to bridge aggregate sectors GTAP level and detailed sectors HS6 level with spatial modeling for homogeneous products

GVCs in a CGE model - a case study on its impacts on trade policy assessments

Describing an integrated GVC-CGE model and testing its implications for regular indicators (like domestic value-added by sector and employment).

Course module on agricultural trade policy analysis

The deliverable will provide ready-to-use learning materials targeting two types of stakeholders: policy-makers (in order to acquaint them with the usefulness of the BATModel models) and researchers (senior researchers – for teaching purposes, and early career researchers – for learning purposes). The deliverable will consist of two parts: (i) teaching/learning materials for courses and (ii) practical hands-on exercises.
