Exploitable results Energy storage for heating or cooling using a chemical heat pump with carbon compounds This work contributes to the study of the action of ammonia on graphite-metallic chloride intercalation compounds. The reaction has been followed in situ in real time by neutron diffraction. The formation of ammine microcrystals within a graphite crystalline network has been observed. The products obtained may be assimilated into inclusion compounds of graphite. The texture of this new material is particularly suitable to the heat and mass transfer. To do this, the new compound is proposed in place of ammoniacate alone in the field of thermochemical energy conversion processes. The reactants are constituted of graphite intercalation fibre compounds, impregnated carbon fibres or impregnated carbon fibre fabrics. Kinetic studies of the reaction have shown satisfactory results and suggest a bright future for the development of this type of product. Searching for OpenAIRE data...
