A Council Decision of 2 March 1992 (92/182/EEC) approves the conclusion of a cooperation Agreement between the European Economic Community and COST third States on eleven concerted action projects in the field of food science and technology (Specific research and technological development programme FLAIR). The Contracting Parties shall participate for a period extending until 30 June 1993 in one or several projects among: Spectroscopic techniques; relating sensory, instrumental and consumer choice studies; predictive modelling of microbial growth and survival in foods; prevention and control of micro-organisms in poultry and poultry-meat processing; food safety and quality based on the application of combined processes and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP); in vitro toxicological studies and real-time residue analysis; food safety and quality improvement via interactive and competitive bindings of lectins and bacterial adhesions in the gut; measurement of micronutrient absorption; physiological implications of the consumption of resistant starch; quality and compatibility of food consumption and food consumption data in Europe; information flow on food technology, food safety and healthy eating to SMEs and consumers (Fair-Flow project). The estimated financial contributions of the Contracting Parties, and rules governing cooperation, are set out in the Agreement as published in the Official Journal. An annex describes the research topics involved plus the rules for financing.
