In collaboration with Task 6.2 a stakeholder workshop is carried out to validate the preliminary outputs of Task 3.3 and 3.4 on the proposed value chain resilience framework and possible management options. This deliverable documents the background materials presented and discussed at the workshop and summarizes the stakeholder reactions during the workshop.
Forest value chain resilience factor list (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The deliverable based on task 3.2 identifies and describes the factors affecting regional forest value chain resilience focusing on forest operations, wood processing operations and multiple other downstream markets. The analyzed value chain regimes range from small-scale, regional forest value chains to integrated, export-oriented forest value chains found in particular case study regions.
Report on the impact of future disturbances on biodiversity (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The report will use the projections of future disturbance regimes of Deliverable D4.3 to analyze the effects of changing disturbance regimes on biodiversity indicators on continental scale. Indicators of biodiversity will include deadwood amount and tree demography (i.e., old forests) and will consider different spatial scales (alpha and beta diversity levels) (Task 4.1).
Report on dissemination and exploitation plan and communication strategy (öffnet in neuem Fenster)The report covers the broad range of communication and dissemination activities conducted by RESONATE, including events, Social Media activities (statistics), media coverage, website visits and overview of RESONATE storylines. Reporting will also integrate the KPI indicated in Chapter 2, Table 2.2a and 2.2b.
Synthesis report on integrated resilience assessment (öffnet in neuem Fenster)D5.5 will synthesise the findings derived from the analysis in tasks 5.2. and 5.3. (D 5.3. and D 5.4) and integrate all analysis results on key value chain resilience indicators with decision support tool results. It connects the analysis results obtained for a comprehensive final validation of resilience metrics and how they can be balanced for present as well as future hotspots of natural, economic and societal disturbances across Europe.
Integrated assessment of resilience across forest systems and forest-wood value chains (öffnet in neuem Fenster)This deliverable relates to task 5.2 and provides an assessment of key resilience indicators including their given priorities along forest systems and forest value chains. It will apply multi-criteria methods and provides the necessary information for better management of resilience related trade-offs. This interim report is accomplished by identifying the principal determinants for future forest-wood value chain resilience. The work will be further elaborated and synthesized in D5.5.
Inventory of forest resilience indicators and metrics (öffnet in neuem Fenster)Informed and structured list of forest resilience indicators obtained in Task 11 from literature and partners expertise The inventory will also include a report of different resilience metrics and its applicability on identified indicators The inventory will be designed to offer a set of preestablished indicators to be applied and tested in the different study cases Tasks 22 24 and will be used in the analysis of value chain resilience Tasks 32 33 The inventory will be the base for the assessment on forest resilience indicators and metrics D12 and the reference guide of resilience indicators and metrics D16

Forest owners' ability and willingness to adapt to changes (öffnet in neuem Fenster)This deliverable reports the final outcome of task 4.3. It will report the results of the survey on forest owners’ ability, capacity and willingness to deal with resilience challenges. This will point at another dimension of challenges than the technical adaptation options, namely whether and under which conditions it is also possible in practice to implement such adaptation options. Particularly, limitations to adaptation of forest owners will be pointed out.
Report on policy analysis for forest resilience (öffnet in neuem Fenster)This deliverable is also related to Task 5.1 and builds on an in-depth policy analysis of documents that demonstrate direct or indirect reference to forest resilience. All documents will be collected in a policy database. The document analysis provides input to the assessment and formulation of future strategies and policy recommendations. The report includes an updated version of the mapping of the forest-related policy environment (published as a draft in D5.1).
Resilience indicators and metrics assessment (öffnet in neuem Fenster)Report analysing the relationship of resilience indicators with ecosystem services considering relevant challenges and stressors and assessing the appropriateness of different metrics It will be an output from Tasks 11 and 12 The conclusions of this assessment will also be incorporated to modelling tools Task 13 dealing with different biogeographical contexts and management regimes later applied in Tasks 22 and 24 in the analysis of current value chains resilience in Tasks 32 and 33 and in the integrated assessment for better management of future forest valuechain resilience Task 52 D12 will be based on the inventory of forest resilience indicators D11 and will serve to build the reference guide of resilience indicators D16
Report on forest-based value chain resilience (öffnet in neuem Fenster)As a main outcome of task 3.1 this deliverable will report the major findings of the statistical analysis on forest-based value chain resilience. For this it conducts thematic cross-regional workshops and delivers validated visual decision support tools for the general stakeholder and decision taker levels, a tested value chain resilience ladder for the same target groups as well as a coherent perception-effect matrix for related companies in the entire wood-value chains. The decision support tools will be adopted in the integrated resilience assessment in D5.5

The user-friendly perception-effect matrix will indicate the current stakeholder perception and the potential effect of all identified drivers of forest value chain resilience.
Management options for achieving resilient forest-based value chains (öffnet in neuem Fenster)Resource fragility (management approaches from WP2 and case studies) and supply fluctuations are dynamically linked to regional and national industry whereby both can dampen fluctuations. This deliverable based on Task 3.3. will assess the dynamic interlinkage between the two and assess how investments in either industry or forest resources can strengthen the resilience of the forest wood value chains.
Trade-offs assessment (öffnet in neuem Fenster)Report on trade-offs and synergies between resilience management alternatives based on ecosystem services and value chains. It will include the description of a procedure for the selection of specific key indicators based on multi-criteria tools. It will be carried out in Task 1.4, and it will benefit from the assessment of functional properties of the social-ecological system developed in Task 1.2. This trade-off framework will be used for the integrated forest ecosystem and value-chain resilience assessment in Tasks 5.2, and the policy recommendations to enhance forest resilience across Europe to be developed in Task 5.4. The Inventory of forest resilience indicators (D1.1) will provide the indicators used in D1.3.
