Insight platform V1 available for user testing (excl. machine learning tool) (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Built on the model of Global Fishing Watch, Insight is a Web GIS portal with global maps, easy zooming/panning, and display of various layers of information such as:–distribution of vessels positions, provided by cooperative sources–electronic catch report synthesis by area–other fishery relevant data associated with locations –Environmental data–Statistics from open or cooperative sources–etc. This list will be progressively enriched during the first months of the project after the users needs will be collected. Efforts are made for an easy user experience, minimize number of clicks to get results, no specific training required. All data are aggregated in such way not to identify a single vessel and protect privacy. Insight will display the density maps resulting of the WP5 demonstrations. Access to collaborative sources such as VMS data made available by governments or regional fisheries organisations is critical.

Insight platform V2 available for user testing (incl. machine learning tool) (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The development of ML algorithms starts in parallel of the design of the Insight platform and are tuned using external data sets (historic data collected through previous project STARFISH) and data sets collected during the demonstrations in the WP5. After the Insight V1 delivered in D4.2 has been commissioned, machine learning tools are then integrated in the Insight platform V2 to provide analysed situations or indicator such as “Most exploited area” or “Most captured species” for instance. These indicators will be specified based on the number and quality of data we can collect from collaborative sources.
