This report extrapolates from farm injury and fatality data collated by Eurostat and national agencies to estimate the true number of farm injuries and fatalities in EU Member States; and, demonstrates the use of high quality farm health and safety data to national and EU farm health and safety policy makers and stakeholders. This report presents the analysis and findings of qualitative research undertaken with young and potential future farmers, both men and women, from across the EU and draws out the implications of their perceptions of these visions and plans for the future, including farm inheritance/take over. This report analyses the design and implementation of CSR measures, introduced bysupermarkets, and assess their impacts on the labour conditions of farmers and farm workers, including mobile workers. Task 5.3

Farm Health and Safety in the EU: Needs, Challenges and Opportunities (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

This deliverable synthesises findings from Task 2.2 / 2.5 and Task 3.4. The report will consist of two main sections:Section 1: Understanding Farm Health and Safety Needs – A summary of key challenges identified by the Communities of Practice, drawing on qualitative data to highlight risks, contextual barriers, and suggested solutions. The section outlines roles for farmers, advisors, extension services, industry actors, and policymakers.Section 2: Survey Insights on Risk Engagement – Presentation of results from the Task 3.4 survey, involving approximately 500 responses from farmers and agricultural students. This section analyses the challenges faced in adopting safe practices and identifies the preferred forms of support that would help improve safety engagement.
