Objective
"Key objective of the Aircraft Concepts Integration & Impact (ACI&I) project is to provide and apply a model based aircraft platform to integrate and assess advanced key technologies for a next generation SMR aircraft developed and matured in the Clean Aviation program and beyond. An important requirement for all technologies considered for an integration is that a maturity of TRL6 shall be reached by 2030 thus making them viable to support the launch of a next generation SMR product by 2035.
Based on the definition of the targeted SMR aircraft configurations with all key performance features required for the SMR architecture, models of different SMR aircraft configurations developed in the CA Phase 1 project ""SMR Aircraft Architecture and Technology"" (SMR ACAP) will be used to explore the best solution to integrate these technologies in a best possible combination to meet the Clean Aviation high level goals. These are to reduce the greenhouse gases by -30% compared to a 2020 state of the art technology and to enable a replace 75% of the fleet by 2050 from an industrialisation perspective.
Very similar to the project ACAP, the proposed project ACI&I shall closely connect and interface with all projects addressing the development of technologies for a SAF-fueled ultra efficient next generation SMR aircraft in Clean Aviation Phase 1 and Phase 2. Synergies with other R&T projects outside of the Clean Aviation shall be established as relevant and appropriate.
The impact of the different innovative key technologies, when integrated to the next generation SMR aircraft model, shall be assessed versus the targeted Clean Aviation key objectives.
To ensure that potential certification issues with the innovative SMR aircraft concepts equipped with innovative key technologies are identified and addressed, EASA will be involved in the project in an advisory role."

Net EU financial contribution. The sum of money that the participant receives, deducted by the EU contribution to its linked third party. It considers the distribution of the EU financial contribution between direct beneficiaries of the project and other types of participants, like third-party participants.
