Streamlined mechanism for distributing functions to the data access nodes to support bioinformatics toolbox in use

DataSHIELD open data API

Framework that enables software providers to extend their software to interface with the DataSHIELD network. These capabilities will be demonstrated by implementing the API with MOLGENIS and investigating the feasibility of connecting other scientific data software.

Task 5.12 addresses the tailoring of DataSHIELD’s functionality for analysing vertically partitioned data (where different sources hold different data on the same observational units) to enable a fully efficient Genomewide Complex Trait Analysis to be undertaken without data having to be transferred between the studies generating the data. Task 5.13 addresses an exploration of the potential to provide toolbox users with an option to use a simplified subset of analysis commands via a web-based graphical interface that can directly address a number of the tools in the toolbox.
