The project has shown that it is possible to obtain an automatic integrated unit to carry out on-line quality control and pantyhose finishing machines, whose operations are: loading, assembling, toe closing, gusseting, semiboarding and packaging. This applied-demonstration research project was carried out by a consortium made up of four partners. The outcome of the project has been a prototype for real time pantyhose inspection consisting on a hardware and software system to detect operation failure and mechanical components (SOLIS S3 baby and SOLIS 20) to do the finishing operation. The main industrial application is for inspecting pantyhose in the textile manufacturing industry. Furthermore, the control system will be able to be applied in glass, wood, leader and ceramic industries. The system is still being tested under real conditions. Also, an industrial marketable multisensor vision system machine is being studied.
