Objetivo The project consists in further developing a measuring device composed of a video camera, a gamma detector, an image processor and a monitor on which the radioactive radiation intensities will be superimposed on the related visual field. The instrument (diameter <200 mm, length <400 mm and weight around 50 kg) will be handled by a specific remote-controlled support. The scope of the programme is to produce a prototype gamma-camera that can be used in hot cells of decommissioning projects. The development of the R&D programme will entirely be performed by the two CEA research centres, CEN-Valrho and CEN-Saclay, with CEN-Valrho as coordinator. The project consists in further developing a measuring device composed of a video camera, a gamma detector, an image processor and a monitor on which the radioactive radiation intensities are superimposed on the related visual field. The instrument is handled by a specific remote controlled support. After real conditions tests, the whole detection chain was sent to an expert laboratory to check the performances of each component. Improvements of different features are planned. These improvements will be obtained by modification of components assembly.WORK PROGRAMME 1. Measuring performance optimization of the demonstration device 2. Testing the apparatus under real conditions 3. Integration of the measuring chain in a biological protection shield 4. Development of the image processing software 5. Calibration operations 6. Prototype application on a decommissioning site.
