Renovation of buildings using steel technologies

Ziel

ROBUST addresses the renovation and improvement of existing buildings using steel-based technologies. It focuses on the particular issues in residential, industrial and commercial buildings and on techniques such as over-cladding, roof-top extensions and retrofit of timber roofs by steel. The scope of work concentrates on both building technology and building physics questions, particularly where over-cladding of the existing building greatly reduces the heat loss through the facade or roof. An economic and sustainability assessment of these techniques will be made.
