ROBUST RULES FOR EUROPEAN AND G7 MACROECONOMIC POLICY

Objective



THE PROPOSED JOINT RESEARCH NETWORK WILL BRING TOGETHER RESEARCHERS AT THE LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL WORKING ON RULES FOR MACROECONOMIC POLICY COORDINATION WITH RESEARCHERS AT THE ATHENS SHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS STUDIES WORKING ON MODEL UNCERTAINLY AND ROBUSTNESS.
ROBUST FORMS OF RULES FOR EUROPEAN AND G7 MACROECONOMIC POLICY COORDINATION WILL BE EXAMINED EMPIRICALLY USING THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC MODEL OF THE WORLD(GEM).THE PROPOSED WORK WILL EXTEND THE LITERATURE IN TWO WAYS.FIRST IT WILL COMPARE RULES WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADVOCATED WITH SOME NEW ALTERNATIVES.SECOND A METHODOLOGICAL CONTRIBUTION WILL BE MADE IN THE AREA OF ROBUST POLICY DESIGN.THE RESEARCH OUTPUT SHOULD HAVE A HIGH POLICY RELEVANCE.
