RTD-related matters coming before the European Parliament during the week of 7-11 October 1991 include: A report from the environment committee on a Commission proposal concerning the formal ratification of an amendment to the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer (COM(90) 589); a report from the transport and tourism committee on the Commission's proposal for a Council Decision on the LORAN-C radionavigation system (COM(91) 1); the first reading of the Commission proposal for a Council Decision adopting a specific research and technological development programme in the field of biotechnology (COM(90) 160), for which it is reported that "a large number" of Amendments have been tabled; and the second reading of the (amended) proposal for a Council Decision concerning a specific programme of research and technological development in the field of information technology (COM(90) 679).
