Integrating Building Renovation Passports into Energy Performance Certification schemes for a decarbonised building stock

"The project website (D6.2) is the outcome of Task 6.2 ""Project online presence (website, hubs, webinars, social)"" / Subtask 6.2.1 ""Project website"" and will be the information hub for the iBRoad2EPC concept, tools and outcomes. The website will be set up on a modern Content Management System (CMS) infrastructure with a responsive design, allowing quick updates, integration of external material, interactivity, and rapid search/access to the content. Cookie consent, form data and other privacy settings will be fully GDPR-compliant. The website will provide information on the project's background, objectives, progress and public outputs. Visitors may subscribe to News Alerts, follow updates by RSS, and download public material. The site will include video content streaming via embedded YouTube, Twitter feeds, cross-referenced navigation, malware protection, etc. The sites language will be English, with selected contents in the languages of the implementation countries. Updates will be regular after month 6."

Outreach documentation (News Alerts, press releases, articles, posts, infographics) (opens in new window)

"D6.8 will bring together the following outputs of Tasks 6.3 ""Other communication material & media"" and 6.2 ""Project online presence"": - Brief email updates sent to the project contacts list when new material is posted on the website.- Press-ready versions of announcements from the project website, ad hoc specially drafted articles, etc.- Simple infographics to present in a clear, comprehensive and visual way key facts of the project."

Tutorial videos (opens in new window)

"Four simple videos of software demos, guided tours, tutorials, or other will be recorded and post-produced under Task 6.3 ""Other communication material & media"" / Subtask 6.3.5 ""Videos"" to demonstrate functions and applications of the iBRoad2EPC software tools or other project products. The videos will be made available as streaming video (Youtube)."

Advertorial video (opens in new window)

"A 3-5 advertorial video will be developed under Task 6.3 ""Other communication material & media"" / Subtask 6.3.5 ""Videos"" to present the project in English, with subtitles for all consortium languages (FR, DE, NL, BG, PT, PL, GR, RO, ES), explaining iBRoad2EPC and how it can contribute to the decarbonisation of the EU building stock. The video will be scripted and produced in-house by Sympraxis, with content inputs from partners. It will be made available as streaming video and in high resolution version for free broadcast."

Project logo, templates, brochure, poster, factsheet and slides (opens in new window)

"As output of Task 6.1 ""Communication and dissemination strategy, identity and documentation"" / Subtask 6.1.3 ""Development of basic project documentation"", this deliverable includes the following documentation, developed to present the project at relevant opportunities:• factsheet and slides in English • project brochure, poster and roll-up banner in all project languages (9+1) All documentation will be made available in digital form, conveniently printable on demand. The brochure, poster and roll-up will also be made available in printed format.It will also include the visual identity applications (PowerPoint templates, template for reports, visual guidance for software applications, digital News Alert and website headers, social media identity headers and avatars)."

Report on adaptation requirements for countries - technical specification for the programming of the software tools, including templates for all rollout countries (opens in new window)

"D3.3 will provide the technical specifications for the programming of the iBRoad2EPC software tools to be adapted to specific pilot country conditions. It will include definitions of country specific adaptations of parameters and building assessment as preparation for the software implementation. The report is the outcome of Task 3.3 ""Country adaptation"" and will include templates for all rollout countries."

Experience from other projects related to links between EPCs and the BRP (opens in new window)

"D2.3 is the output of Task 2.1.2 ""Bridging EPCs, building renovation passports and deep renovation through European projects"". It is a public short summary of research outputs of projects related to next-generation EPCs and deep renovation, regarding new features (e.g. Indoor Environmental Quality, the smart dimension, measured performance, digital building logbook) and their calculation methodologies, analysing them in view of their potential integration into iBRoad2EPC."

"Based on the concept developed in Task 2.2 and the outcomes of Τasks 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3, a non-public, draft guide of the iBRoad2EPC will be produced for each one of the implementation countries to prepare for the national roll-out and testing. The D4.1 report under Task 4.1 ""Embed iBRoad2EPC in national schemes to feed the preparation of the national roll-out"", will compile the 6 guides developed by the Task Leader and Country Leaders with the support and contribution of the NACs."

iBRoad2EPC training toolkit (opens in new window)

"Under Task 4.2 ""Training of auditors (incl. EPC)"" / Subtask 4.2.1 ""Development of training material"", and based on the iBRoad training toolkit and a review of specific training requirements in each of the 6 implementing countries, an enhanced training toolkit will be developed which will include new features and factors, such as the Smart Readiness Indicator and the Indoor Environmental Quality of the buildings and covering more complex building typologies, e.g. multifamily and public buildings. The training toolkit will be organised in a semi-flexible way with general core information explaining principles and basic procedures, and country specific adaptations. The enhanced training toolkit will indicatively include the following parts: • Handbook for energy auditors • Presentations for the auditors´ training• Supporting material"

Evaluation of iBRoad2EPC training (opens in new window)

"As output of Task 4.2 ""Training of auditors (incl. EPC)"" / Subtask 4.2.2 ""Organisation of training sessions for experts in collaboration with national training institutions"", results of the evaluation of the iBRoad2EPC auditor's training material and procedure in each of the six pilot countries will be presented in D4.3."

Conceptualising iBRoad2EPC: can EPCs be upgraded to include Building Renovation Passport elements? (opens in new window)

"D2.2. is the outcome of Task 2.2 ""Conceptualising iBRoad2EPC: can EPCs be upgraded to include Building Renovation Passport elements?"". It is an analysis of the maturity and potential of the market in the 6 implementing countries to evolve their EPCs through the integration of the Building Renovation Passport, and will be used to define the boundaries for the adaptation, national roll-out and testing of iBRoad2EPC further on in the project. The analysis will conceptualise the iBRoad2EPC approach for countries interested in exploring ways to use EPCs to trigger renovations."

Technical report on the definition of the proposed concept, content and methodology of iBRoad2EPC (opens in new window)

"D2.4 is the output of Task 2.3 ""Define technical adaptation requirements for iBRoad2EPC"". This report will suggest how to adjust the iBRoad approach (iBRoad Roadmap, Logbook and training) and define which elements to integrate in the iBRoad2EPC methodology, to prepare the technical background for the national roll out in the 6 implementing countries. The analysis will consider methodological questions, visual improvement of the EPC and the connection among existing relevant instruments. It will also suggest ways to minimise the increased effort required to issue iBRoad2EPC and include additional content without disincentivising its use."

"The procedure, testing and evaluation results of the iBRoad2EPC testing in real case buildings in the 6 implementing countries will be presented in the public report D4.4 as output of Task 4.3 ""Test iBRoad2EPC""."

iBRoad2EPC: Public authorities views on the Integration potential (opens in new window)

"As output of Task 4.4 ""iBRoad2EPC evaluation"" / Subtask 4.4.2 ""Re-assess the iBRoad2EPC integration potential in implementing countries based on the lessons learnt from the testing and feedback received"", report D4.6 will summarise public authorities views in the form of an updated final guide on the integration potential of iBRoad2EPC into the individual national framework for each one of the six implementation countries, in line with their specific market maturity status."

How to best use financial and non-financial incentives for renovation in implementing markets (opens in new window)

"As outcome of Task 5.4 ""Policy exploitation strategy"" D5.4 is an analysis to assess how EPCs are used to support deep renovation in implementing markets: review of financial and non-financial programmes for renovation (2-3 programmes per country) to assess if/how EPCs are used to trigger renovation, measure progress and achieve savings, their effectiveness in doing so and their alignment with national long-term renovation strategies. The analysis will assess if/how iBRoad2EPC approach is considered, opportunities for its adoption and recommendations on how to do so."

"D6.9 is the outcome of Task 6.4 ""National dissemination events and networks"" and will summarise national events where iBRoad2EPC had a presence in the 6 implementing and in non-implementation countries (Austria and Germany), as well as participation in relevant national or regional networks."

Summary analysis of EPCs' alignment with national Long-term renovation strategies (opens in new window)

"D2.1 is the outcome of T2.1.1 ""Analysis of EPCs and their alignment with national Long-Term Renovation Strategies (LTRS) and the target of achieving a highly efficient and decarbonised building stock by 2050"". Following screening of sources relevant to the long-term requirements of energy performance of buildings and existing scenarios derived from bottom-up building stock models, and a desktop research on the consistency of current EPC practices with their long-term target, this deliverable will provide a short summary to feed further development steps in the project."

"D5.2 is the output of Task 5.2 ""Training module for construction professionals"" and will comprise a specialised training module (incl. presentation with notes, exercises, test questions and references) for construction professionals on how to use iBRoad2EPC to support staged renovation design and construction practices. The module will include customised recommendations for stepwise deep renovation while avoiding lock-in effects, together with practical guidelines on innovative features as IEQ and SRI, and will be made available for use by interested international projects promoting training and upskilling of the building workforce."

"The final outcome of Task 3.5 ""Expanding the platform for (local) EPC cooperation"" and more in particular Subtask 3.5.3 ""Testing and finalising the API in pilot cases – setting up the EPC v2.0"" is D3.6, an API v2.0 which is fine tuned, based on the pilot case feedback, including Logbook final version and Roadmap final version."

Advisory Package for public authorities (incl. presentation with notes and references) (opens in new window)

"D5.3 is the output of Task 5.1 ""Advisory package for public authorities interested in testing iBRoad2EPC solutions"" and comprises an advisory package and training toolkit (incl. presentation with notes and references) to public authorities interested in testing and adopting iBRoad2EPC solutions to trigger deep renovation, through strengthening capacity building for the design, implementation and monitoring of EPC programmes, training and/or financing schemes. The advisory package will include iBRoad2EPC-specific information to improve understanding of the benefits of the proposed tools, but also guidance on soft measures (how to design and communicate renovation programmes, how to align with LTRS, existing support programmes, etc.)."
