Quantum Access and Innovation: Enabling open, Secure platforms and Knowledge Growth across Europe

Objective

N10GLED aims to become a European leader in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)-as-a-Service, operating a satellite constellation that delivers ultra-secure cryptographic keys for governmental, industrial, and commercial users. To reach this long-term objective, the company is implementing a progressive deep-tech roadmap, where each technological milestone generates innovative, market-relevant sub-products that strengthen technical capabilities, increase visibility, and enhance investor confidence.
Within this strategic pathway, Q-ARX focuses on developing and validating the BB84 LAB KIT. This educational and prototyping platform enables universities, start-ups, and SMEs to explore, design, and test their own quantum communication systems. The BB84 LAB KIT integrates advanced photonic and electronic components in a modular, user-friendly setup that demonstrates real QKD exchanges based on the BB84 protocol. It serves simultaneously as a training tool, a development environment, and an ecosystem enabler, lowering entry barriers to quantum technologies and nurturing European quantum talent.
Through Q-ARX, N10GLED will raise the BB84 LAB KIT from TRL 4 to TRL 6, validating it in relevant environments and establishing the production and distribution framework required for market entry. The project will also strengthen N10GLED’s business and investment readiness, refine its commercial strategy, and expand collaborations with partners in widening countries, thereby reinforcing access to excellence and stimulating regional innovation capacity.
The expected results include a market-ready BB84 LAB KIT that empowers educators and innovators, enhanced European quantum skills and infrastructure, stronger investor interest, and company positioning as a key QKD developer, as a scalable technological and business foundation for the future QKD-as-a-Service satellite network.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
