Objective
The Shealed project develops the first dual self-test for rapid, accurate detection of bacterial vaginosis (BV) and vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), the two most common vaginal infections affecting over 900 million women annually. The 18-month EIC Pre-Accelerator will move our technology from TRL 4 towards TRL 6 by completing functional prototyping, analytical validation, usability optimisation and initial clinical evaluation. By project end, we will have a cassette prototype ready for CE marking, external analytical data and first clinical performance read-outs to support IVDR Class C self-test certification and a robust, investor-validated business case.
