Eu-russia energy technology centre -opet Russia

Objective

The overall objective of this project is to promote new energy technologies and to enhance the technology co-operation of the EU and the Russian Federation through the establishment of an EU-Russia Energy Technology Centre - OPET Russia.

The EU-Russia (ETC) will focus on three areas, namely hydrocarbons, coal and electricity and renewables and energy efficiency with the following objectives:
- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on energy technologies
- Provide training to specific target groups on energy technologies
- Provide a project facilitation mechanism that will help identify priority projects requiring financing and assist in the attraction of investment
- Undertake information dissemination and communication activities that will allow for the greater reach of information on energy technologies
- Provide technical assistance for the introduction of advanced energy technologies in Russia
