Exploitable results

The MCD (magnetic cartridge drive) offers from 540 to 750 MB of storage on a single, removable 90 mm (3.5 inch) diskette. The diskette is similar to a floppy disk but has a capacity approaching that of compact disc read only memory (CD-ROM) with additional full read and write capabilities. Access speeds are at least 20 times faster than CD-ROM, and transfer rates at least 10 times faster than a quadrupole speed compact disc (CD). Performances match those of normal hard disk drives (10 ms access time and 8.5 MB per second transfer rate) and diskettes are guaranteed against data loss for 10 years of normal use. The product is suited to heavy storage users who require the flexibility of a removable device and the performance of a high-end hard drive.
