Communicating for generating trust by and through the media (opens in new window)

This research report provides insight into which contextual factors (e.g. media systems, frames, trust levels etc.) affect the effectiveness of regulatory agencies’ use of the media as a mean to communicate, to generate trust in general and in relation to incidents of regulatory breakdowns. In addition, the report provides insights into the most effective types of communication strategies for pre-empting regulatory breakdowns as well as for repairing/generating trust after a regulatory breakdown among some of the primary stakeholders (the citizens affected by the regulatory behaviour and the regulatees).
