Energy and water consumption measurements taken from the pilot plant will be used to calculate the environmental impact of the entire Colorifix process from fermentation to dyed fabric shipment Adopting published figures for molasses and glycerol production will allow us to determine the total environmental impact measured in CO2 per kg of dyed fabric of Colorifix microbiological dyeing compared against established dyeing methods This Life Cycle Analysis will be published and promoted through the Colorifix website and trade journals
We shall prepare and produce approximately five brochures explaining the Colorifix process and its application on a range of synthetic and natural fabrics At least one pamphlet shall summarise the ecological and sustainability merits of Colorifix as derived from the Life Cycle Assessment report in Task 53
