Objective
The objective of the project is to develop a benchmarking concept for district heating enterprises with the aim of improving energy efficiency, environmental impact, economy and socio-economy. Benchmarking is seen as a tool for improvement of the performance of district heating companies and for increased economic transparency enabling comparison of energy services and performance of different enterprises. The work is focusing Denmark and Poland specifically and the Baltic Sea region in general where large potentials for improvement of energy efficiency, environment and of technical, economic and socio-economic performance. The objective will be achieved through development of a benchmarking methodology and tool, through networking and dissemination of results in co-operation with approximate 30 district heating enterprises in Denmark and Poland.
