Performance evaluation and guidance documentation (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Part one of the deliverable will describe the principles and ideas of the safe innovations approach (SIA). The report will point out pivotal information to assess the risk potential of hybrid and multicomponent nanomaterials, instruments and methods for each stage of the SIA.Part two of the deliverable will be a documentation scheme for a pre-regulatory safety dossier, suitable for risk communication and regulatory purposes. It will be the final report on the Safe Innovations approach, delivered at the end of the project duration and will report relevant standardisation actions regarding SbD.

Bioaccumulation and persistency evaluation of selected NMs (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Report describing the bioaccumulation at the entry-point of the trophic chain, according to the data obtained for algae and daphnia, and the possibilities of biomagnification according to the data obtained for fish. Since persistency of the NMs plays a key role in bioaccumulation by determining the availability of NMs for organisms, the report will incorporate the results of the persistency studies.

Sector-specific categorisation scheme of multi-component nanomaterials based on specific concerns, the suitability of SbD concepts, the SIA and elements of the DSS tool for decision steps in innovation management at SME and industry (si apre in una nuova finestra)

The categorisation scheme will use all sector-specific criteria to maximize the effectiveness of the SbD process for different sectors, including the categories established by appropriate risk matrices, and will thus lower the hurdle of SbD implementation in industry and SME.
