Novel organic-inorganic materials in opto-electronic systems for the monitoring and control of bio-processes

Objective

Biotechnological processes can be found in food, drink and pharmaceutical industries, waste processing or environmental protection and they need affordable and rapid sensing techniques. MATINOES is aimed in the development of novel enzyme based fibre optic sensors for applications in biotechnological production processes to cover the lack of sensors suitable for in-situ, continuous monitoring of reactants under harsh reaction conditions. The partnership has 9 partners from 5 different countries. It contains internationally recognised specialists in: inorganic-organic coating materials, enzyme preparation, enzymatic reactions, design and preparation of optical fibres, and sensor design. The project also involves SMEs involved in the design and supply of biochemical plants and instrumentation, and the manufacture of fibre-optic instrumentation.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
