Objective
The objective of the THINK-UP network is to draw together results on transport demand forecasting and scenario, building, and to discuss and compare the methodologies used, the underlying hypotheses, and the results obtained. THINK-UP will be open to policy makers (at European and national level), operators and users and will work in close relation with a research team. Four main themes will be discussed through a number of small workshops and larger seminars, organised in three phases: initiation of the Thematic Network, concertation of the actors and validation of results. This themes are transport services and user needs for freight, institutions and policies, prediction tools and related research. Results will classified policy objectives, validate segmentation of transport markets and present and discuss models used at European, national and sectoral level.
