Valorisation of knowledge for competitive steel and composite bridges

Ziel

Within the RFCS research project COMBRI essential knowledge has been assembled to enhance the competitiveness of steel and composite bridges. This type 2 proposal aims at the valorisation and promotion of these results not only to reach a wider audience but also to assure the application of the outcomes. A design manual including worked examples and conceptual design issues will contribute to a better understanding and assessment of the knowledge gained along with the possibility to highlight the relevant topics.

An implementation of the knowledge in a future revision of Eurocode or in national application documents is prepared to create a common basis providing European designers, manufacturers and bridge owners with all the benefits.
