Objetivo Within the RFCS research project COMBRI essential knowledge has been assembled to enhance the competitiveness of steel and composite bridges. This type 2 proposal aims at the valorisation and promotion of these results not only to reach a wider audience but also to assure the application of the outcomes. A design manual including worked examples and conceptual design issues will contribute to a better understanding and assessment of the knowledge gained along with the possibility to highlight the relevant topics.An implementation of the knowledge in a future revision of Eurocode or in national application documents is prepared to create a common basis providing European designers, manufacturers and bridge owners with all the benefits.
