Growing Europe's algae industry
The EU Algae Initiative is Europe's roadmap for developing a strong, sustainable and competitive algae sector. Turning this ambition into concrete actions is EU4ALGAE. As the European Commission's flagship stakeholder platform for the algae sector, EU4ALGAE serves as a one-stop shop for knowledge sharing, policy engagement and community building across the full algae value chain. It currently has 1 200 registered members, including researchers, farmers, producers, entrepreneurs, investors and public authorities. To further enhance the platform, the project is now working to add an Algae Farmers Toolkit, algae industry roadmap, best practices in carbon and nutrient credit schemes, and consumer awareness campaign.
