The Permanent Inventory of Biotechnology Research Projects in the European Community (BIOREP), initiated in 1987 and to be funded during 1992-1994 under the BRIDGE programme, aims to further collaboration and coordination of biotechnology research and policy at national and European levels. The database includes some 4500 projects and research programmes from over 1600 laboratories and institutions. New objectives include accessibility and user friendliness, coupled with updating of present files and upgrading of data exchange. Progress is reported in the BIOREP newsletter, which is available free on request.
