Periodic Reporting for period 2 - BBTWINS (Digital twins for the optimization of agrifood value chain processes and the supply of quality biomass for bio-processing)
Période du rapport: 2022-06-01 au 2023-11-30
The integration of these technologies is set to revolutionize the agri-food value chain by optimizing processes and improving the supply and management of biomass for bioprocessing. By doing so, BBTWINS aims to achieve significant reductions in biomass losses, extend storage times, and increase the overall sustainability and efficiency of the agri-food sector. This initiative is not only vital for environmental health, but it also has profound implications for societal well-being, as it seeks to create a more resilient and sustainable food production system.
The project's importance for society is underscored by its potential to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time, including food security, environmental sustainability, and the efficient use of natural resources. In summary, BBTWINS represents a pioneering effort to harness the power of digital technologies for the betterment of the agri-food sector, with far-reaching benefits for society and the environment
During RP2, the BBTWINS project made significant advancements across its work packages. WP1 achieved full sensorization of pork and fruit value chains, developed predictive models, and established a central data lake.
